Program and Speaker InformationWhat do the youngest-ever President of the Sierra Club and the first Chief Sustainability Officer of Walmart have in common?  They are co-founders of yerdle, the Bay Area startup that helps members to share and receive free items with their social network. Hear Adam Werbach and Andy Ruben speak about their convergent paths to the sharing economy and their insights on driving fundamental change in the private sector.  The evening will begin with food and drink at a networking reception showcasing innovative local sharing economy companies.

After the reception, Lisa Gansky, entrepreneur, investor, and author, will describe the sharing economy landscape today and Adam Werbach and Andy Ruben talk about their convergent paths from Sierra Club and Walmart to cofounding yerdle, the Bay Area company that helps members to share and receive free items with their social network.

Lisa Gansky Lisa Gansky is an entrepreneur, investor, speaker and author of the bestselling book, The Mesh: Why the Future of Business is Sharing and the chief instigator of Mesh Labs, a global directory for the sharing economy.  As CEO, co-founder and chairman of Ofoto, Lisa drew on her entrepreneurial spirit and experience to develop Ofoto into the leading global photo sharing service.  Currently, Lisa is an advisor and investor in these ventures: Breather, Honest Buildings, Instructables (sold to Autodesk), Makani Power (sold to Google), OpenRov, OtherMill, RelayRides, Ridepal, Sidecar, Science Exchange, Scoot Networks, Solar Mosaic, Squidoo, TaskRabbit, Vayable and Yerdle.

Andy Ruben Andy Ruben is the co-founder of yerdle. He previously spent 10 years at Walmart; as their first Chief Sustainability Officer, Andy positioned the company into what was described as the “epicenter of sustainability.”  Within three years his innovative approach transformed nearly every area of Walmart’s global business, generating hundreds of millions of dollars in bottom line efficiencies while altering the business plans of 60,000+ suppliers across hundreds of industries and consumer categories.  Andy has been recognized professionally as the Sam M. Walton Entrepreneur of the Year, a Retailing Rising Star by Chain Store Age, and a 40 Under 40 Business Leader.
 Adam Werbach Adam Werbach is the co-founder of yerdle.  A lifelong organizer, at age 23 Werbach was elected the youngest-ever President of the Sierra Club, the oldest and largest environmental organization in the United States. He went on to create the media and strategy company Act Now, which he sold to the Publicis Groupe in 2007, becoming the Chief Sustainability Officer for Saatchi & Saatchi and helping many of the world’s largest companies create, launch and market new products and initiatives.  In 2011 he was named a young global leader by the World Economic Forum.
