Collaborations and Partnerships

The Lester Center regularly cosponsors programs and events focused on entrepreneurial topics with:

Program Partnerships at Haas

The Lester Center is pleased to co-sponsor the following outstanding student events:

Berkeley Asia Business Conference
The Berkeley Asia Business Conference (ABC) is an annual conference held at Haas, aimed at bringing together the business, technological, academic, and political leadership throughout Asia to create a forum for exchange of visions and solutions that will shape the marketplace for the next generation of leaders in Asian business.

Berkeley Digital Media Conference (>play)
The Berkeley Digital Media Conference (>play) is an annual conference held at Haas which brings together creative professionals, industry leaders, and academics to discuss the trends and challenges that face technology and digital media industries.

The Lester Center coordinates with other centers and programs at the Haas School to extend the opportunities available to students interested in entrepreneurial careers.

Members of the Lester Center-sponsored Entrepreneurs Association work with the Young Entrepreneurs at Haas (YEAH) both to hone their own entrepreneurial skills and to pass their training on to the next generation.

Program Partnerships on Campus

The Lester Center collaborates with the Management of Technology Program in administering the Mayfield Fellows Program and in presenting opportunities for Haas students where technology and entrepreneurship intersect.

The Center for Responsible Business works with the Lester Center to develop an awareness of social responsibility in business planning. The Center for Responsible Business has agreed to be a co-sponsor of the Lester Center’s Global Social Venture Competition.

Its ties with Lawrence Berkeley and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratories, the College of Engineering and with the Berkeley Center for Executive Development have provided opportunities for a variety of successful collaborations. The Lester Center actively collaborates on programs and activities with the new Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology in the College of Engineering.

The Lester Center continues to work with the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory to facilitate the creation of new businesses by licensing laboratory technology.

Bay Area Program Partnerships

The Lester Center has partnered with the UC Berkeley Business Plan Competition organizing committee to create a series of workshops on Entrepreneurial Best Practices that are available throughout the academic year. These workshops can help the beginning entrepreneur to make the right decisions about his opportunity and business structure.

The Lester Center is pleased to continue its long standing relationship with the Berkeley Entrepreneurship Laboratory, which provides low cost space to start-ups begun by current Cal students and recent alumni.

The Lester Center and the Keiretsu Forum work together to strengthen the Bay Area entrepreneurial climate by facilitating the interaction between the Haas School’s entrepreneurship students and Bay Area entrepreneurs and investors.
