Mr. Arthur Rock
Arthur Rock's sustained contribution to the
creation of the Venture Capital Industry has had a profound
impact on Silicon Valley. Mr. Rock, principal of Arthur Rock
& Co. in San Francisco, and founder of Davis & Rock,
has provided venture capital to help finance Fairchild Semiconductor,
Scientific Data Systems, Teledyne, Intel, Diasonics, and Apple
Computer, among other companies.
He presently served on the board of directors
of Intel Corporation, AirTouch Communications, and Echelon
Corporation and the NASD board of governors. Mr. Rock is a
former member of the Haas School of Business Advisory Board.
The award was inaugurated in 1998.
