Fellows in Entrepreneurship

The Lester Center’s Fellows in Entrepreneurship support the involvement of entrepreneurial leaders in the varied activities of the Haas School. Lester Fellows are successful Bay Area company founders and venture capitalists who are closely affiliated with the center for a year and serve as mentors to Haas MBA Students.

Successful Lester Center Alumni

The Lester Center has had the honor to work with the most recent innovative and entrepreneurial minds of the business community. Many students who have worked with the Lester Center have gone on to have their own start-up's. They have given back to the business community and to the Lester Center. This is just a short list of success stories of Haas MBA's.

Gloria W. Appel Award

The Gloria W. Appel Award for Outstanding Leadership in Entrepreneurship is presented upon nomination by the Haas School community to a second year MBA candidate of outstanding caliber who has made an extraordinary and lasting contribution to the entrepreneurship program at Haas.

Richard H. Holton Teaching Fellowships

The Lester Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation is proud to administer the Richard H. Holton Teaching Fellows award each year.  This award was established in 2006, with support from Leo Helzel, in recognition of the former Haas Dean and his pioneering efforts not only in teaching entrepreneurship but in bringing experts from the community into the classroom. The selection of a Richard H. Holton Teaching Fellow recognizes the generous contributions of time and talent of a member of our community who has consistently participated in our classrooms, enriching the education of our students and enlivening the academic discourse with their expertise and real world experience.

Nominations for Holton Teaching Fellows are solicited from Haas faculty members in the spring, and Fellows are recognized at the Lester Center Annual Dinner in May.
