2005
Venture Capital Fellows Named
Charles Haythornthwaite
and Krzysztof Kujawa have been named the Lester Center’s
2005 Fellows in Venture Capital. Charles and Krzysztof, both
MBA’06, were chosen from a field of sixteen after a
highly competitive process that included a final round of
interviews with both a venture capitalist and a successful
entrepreneur. Successful candidates combine a strong interest
in entrepreneurship with a desire for a career in the venture
capital industry. They must also have outstanding credentials
that demonstrate a potential for success in the venture capital
industry.
Prior to coming to Haas, Haythornthwaite earned a Ph.D. in
photonics engineering and material science from the University
of Southampton, UK, and worked with UK companies to develop
commercial strategies for emerging technologies.
Kujawa entered the MBA program at Haas after having spent
over seven years building AMG.net, the system integrator firm
he founded in Poland. During that time he worked closely with
the venture capitalist who he was able to recruit to help
him grow his company.
Each successful venture capital finalist receives a $1000
fellowship. The Lester Center then matches these select students
with 3-month internships at venture capital firms or their
portfolio companies where the MBA candidate receives hands-on
experience in the world of new venture creation and management.
Congratulations to Charles and Krzysztof.
