Current

    Alex De Winter, Ph.D

Alex is a first year MBA candidate. Before attending Haas, Alex was a senior scientist at Pacific Biosciences, a biotechnology start-up backed by Kleiner Perkins, Alloy Ventures and Mohr Davidow Ventures. At Pacific Biosciences, he worked on the biochemistry behind the company’s single-molecule DNA sequencing instrument. He began his career as a scientist at 454 Life Sciences (acquired by Roche), where he helped to develop the GS20, 454’s next generation DNA sequencer. Alex received a B.A. magna cum laude in Chemistry from Amherst College, as well as a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Stanford University.

 

   Keith Eadie

Keith is second year MBA candidate. He has a background in investment research and portfolio management with a focus on technology. Most recently, he was a Consultant at the Boston Consulting Group. Prior to coming to Haas, he spent over five years with HSBC Asset Management in London, New York and San Francisco. His research coverage included firms within the software, hardware, storage and IT services sectors. He was responsible for the management of funds within U.S.-based portfolios as well as co-managing the HSBC Global Technology Fund. Keith graduated from the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia in 1999, where he earned his Bachelors of Commerce degree in Finance. He earned his CFA charter in 2002.

 

   Kaan Ersun

Kaan is a first year MBA candidate. He has a background in high-tech entrepreneurship and management consulting. Prior to Haas, he worked as a management consultant in the Risk and Finance group of BearingPoint, where he advised large financial institutions on strategy and risk management. Kaan started his career as an analog design engineer at Decicon, a semiconductor startup in San Jose, CA. At Decicon, he designed analog ICs and worked on product definition as well as technical marketing. Kaan graduated from Stanford University with a BS in Electrical Engineering, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He also holds dual MS degrees in Electrical Engineering and Management Science and Engineering from Stanford University.

 

   Ty Henson

Ty is a first year MBA candidate. He has a background in portfolio management and investment research within the venture capital industry. Before attending the Haas School of Business at Berkeley, Ty was an Associate at Saints Venture Capital, a leading direct secondary investment firm, where he focused on investment due diligence, valuation and fundraising activities. At Haas, Ty is concentrating on entrepreneurship and the management of technology. He holds a B.A. from Western Washington University.

 

   Craig Klemp

Craig is a first year MBA candidate. Before attending Haas, Craig was an Analyst at Paladin Capital Group, a multi-stage venture capital fund that invests in companies with products and services that address homeland security issues and needs. Prior to joining Paladin, Craig was a financial analyst with Lockheed Martin Transportation & Security Solutions, where he provided financial management for Homeland Security programs and Federal Aviation Administration programs to modernize air traffic management systems. Craig received his B.S. degree in Commerce from the University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce with a concentration in Finance.

 

   Kevin Kopczynski

Kevin is a second year MBA candidate. He has a background in product design, medical technologies and early stage ventures. Most recently, he was a Summer Associate at Lazard, where he completed assignments in M&A, financing and strategic advisory for biotechnology clients. Prior to Haas, he served in various technical and operational roles in helping to build IQuum Inc, a molecular diagnostics company. Kevin began his career at Arthur D. Little, where he assisted diverse client types on R&D initiatives across a broad range of industries including consumer products, energy, and medical devices. In addition, Kevin remains an active advisor to his family's manufacturing business, Ascension Industries. He holds a BSE cum laude in engineering from Princeton University and an MS in engineering from Stanford University.

 

   Rebecca Lynn

Rebecca Lynn is a final year, J.D./MBA candidate who seeks to leverage her entrepreneurial, marketing and legal experience in venture capital. Prior to business school, she ran her own marketing consulting company with clients including Experian, CapitalOne and Commission Junction. She served as the VP of Marketing at NextCard, an online credit company, and she began her career at Procter in Gamble where she was on the global R&D team for a new market entry in Latin America. Most recently, she was a summer associate at Morgenthaler Ventures. She holds a B.S. in chemical engineering and is a registered patent agent.

 

   John Ryu

John is a first year MBA candidate. He has a background in digital media, online advertising, and internet ventures. Most recently he was the Director of Product Management at AdECN, a digital advertising startup where he led the design and development of the company's advertising exchange product (acquired by Microsoft). Prior to that, John led the paid search products group at WhenU, a behavioral advertising startup founded by partners at the Boston Consulting Group. During his tenure, he refined the targeting algorithms used for ad serving and brokered several distribution partnerships, which resulted in a quadrupling of search revenues. John began his career as a management consultant at Cap Gemini. John holds a BA in economics from Yale University.

 

   Kenneth Wallace

Kenneth C. Wallace III is a second year MBA candidate. Last year, Ken completed projects with Bessemer Venture Partners and Focus Ventures. Most recently, Ken was a Summer Associate with Industry Ventures where he evaluated firm expansion while sourcing and negotiating several secondary transactions. Before attending the Haas School of Business, Ken served in a variety of roles at Bessemer Trust. Most recently he worked in Bessemer's Private Equity Funds Group, leading venture capital fund due diligence and investment. At Haas, Ken is VP of Marketing and Communications for the Entrepreneurs Association and is an active member of the Digital Media and Entertainment Club. Ken received a B.A., cum laude in Economics from Wake Forest University.
