Jennifer Hopp is Venture Partner at Outsell, where she oversees investments in early stage startups in media, information and digital marketing. Currently investing in solutions for data visualization, entertainment, fashion and fitness (portfolio to be announced shortly), Jennifer also partners with other VCs to help entrepreneurs validate markets. In addition, Jennifer is founder and CEO of WeMakeItSafer, a tech company that builds web applications to improve communication between brands and consumers, especially around issues related to product safety and recalls. Prior to WeMakeItSafer, Jennifer was a testifying and consulting Commercial Damages Expert, helping companies deal with crises such as product recall, product liability, intellectual property infringement, antitrust and breach of contract. Most recently, she was a Principal with ERSGroup and, before that, a Senior Consultant with Navigant Consulting. Jennifer graduated with Honors and as a Community Fellow from UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business where, in addition to her MBA, she earned certificates in Entrepreneurship and in Management of Technology (MOT), a joint curriculum program with the College of Engineering. Jennifer completed her BA in three years, also at the University of California at Berkeley, where she double majored in Economics and Japanese. She also studied and conducted research in Economics at Oxford University.
