David Hartford

David Hartford is a Senior Advisor at Calibrium AG (formerly Aeris Capital), which manages funds for the family office of a successful European entrepreneur, as well as for his foundation, one of the largest in Germany. Aeris invests in private equity, venture capital and hedge funds globally, and directly into companies, principally in Western Europe and the United States. David has over 40 years of experience as a private equity investor, venture capitalist and entrepreneur – both in the US and Europe – as well as a software/systems engineer and manager, and high tech and securities attorney. David received his B.S. from the University of Pittsburgh, his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania [including studying under professors from Poland and Russia], and completed the Advanced Executive Program “Competing in a Global Environment” at The Anderson School at UCLA. He has been a frequent speaker and contributor at conferences in Europe, Asia and the United States on a number of private equity and technology topics. He is a mentor at the Haas Graduate School of Business at UC – Berkeley, and been an adjunct professor for New Venture Finance at Cal State University – East Bay’s MBA program in Hayward and in Moscow at the Academy for the National Economy.
