Head of eCommerce Tech, Loblaw
Raif Barbaros (MBA 08) is currently the Head of eCommerce Technology for Loblaw, Canada’s largest retailer. Prior to Loblaw, he was the CTO at MavenSay, a trusted recommendations start-up where he built & led the team that developed and launched MavenSay’s flagship iPhone app which was featured by Apple. He was also a co-founder of fooddel, an online grocer based in Toronto. Before that, he was the CTO at Locavore – an award-winning mobile app for the iPhone and Android platforms, named one of top 10 iPhone apps by Time magazine. Prior to Locavore, he was a co-founder of Carsala, a venture capital backed start-up that introduced a revolutionary used car buying service which was featured by Wired Magazine, New York Times among others. He founded Carsala and raised the first round of funding during his last year of his MBA at Haas. He’s also worked in product management at eBay, web development at Deloitte and started and sold an online career services company in Canada. He also spent a year as a venture capitalist at O’Reilly AlphaTech Ventures. In addition to an Haas MBA, he also holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Mathematics from Queen’s University in Canada.
