Matt Evans (MBA 08) is passionate about finding ways social business models can generate returns and improve the world. He co-founded UpEnergy Group, a developer of energy efficiency projects in Africa, and worked as Managing Director of Impact Carbon, a climate finance nonprofit, to launch new business lines including a water filter retail and financing business. Prior to completing his MBA, Matt co-founded Live Climate, a carbon offsetting organization, worked with social enterprises in the NESsT venture fund to measure and grow their impact, and evaluated social entrepreneurs at Ashoka. Matt serves on several boards and holds an MBA from Haas and a BA in Economics from Stanford. He loves the mountains in winter and running on Ocean Beach with his dog.
