Russ Holdstein was CFO at Rolling Stone magazine in its early days in SF. After backpacking around the world, he became one of the first start up tech entrepreneurs in San Francisco, becoming founding CEO of Payday which was recognized as one of the 500 fastest-growing companies in the US and Russ was named one of the top 10 entrepreneurs in San Francisco. After a successful exit, he became one of the early angel investors in the Bay Area and has been involved in starting and growing dozens of companies including StubHub, HotelTonight, Ask.com (Ask Jeeves) and Trulia (Zillow). He has been a Lecturer of Entrepreneurship at Haas off and on for over 20 years.
